Games for Bisimulations and Abstraction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Weak bisimulations are typically used in process algebras where silent steps are used to abstract from internal behaviours. They facilitate relating implementations to specifications. When an implementation fails to conform to its specification, pinpointing the root cause can be challenging. In this paper we provide a generic characterisation of branching-, delay-, ηand weak-bisimulation as a game between Spoiler and Duplicator, offering an operational understanding of the relations. We show how such games can be used to assist in diagnosing non-conformance between implementation and specification. Moreover, we show how these games can be extended to distinguish divergences.

متن کاملLogical Characterisation of Parameterised Bisimulations
We explore the relationship between bisimulations and logic. The link between them is formed by logical characterisations, which have been given for well-known bisimulation equivalences and preorders. Parameterised bisimulations allow us to incorporate notions of abstraction or efficiency into behavioural equivalences. This generalised framework of parameterised bisimulations is used to develop...
متن کاملBisimulations for Communicating Transactions
We develop a theory of bisimulations for a simple language containing communicating transactions, obtained by dropping the isolation requirement of standard transactions. Such constructs have emerged as a useful programming abstraction for distributed systems. In systems with communicating transactions actions are tentative, waiting for certain transactions to commit before they become permanen...
متن کاملBisimulations for Nondeterministic Labeled Markov Processes
We extend the theory of labeled Markov processes with internal nondeterminism, a fundamental concept for the further development of a process theory with abstraction on nondeterministic continuous probabilistic systems. We define nondeterministic labeled Markov processes (NLMP) and provide three definition of bisimulations: a bisimulation following a traditional characterization, a state based ...
متن کاملAn algorithm for computing bisimulations in planning
Merge-and-shrink abstractions are a popular approach to generate abstraction heuristics for planning. The computation of merge-and-shrink abstractions relies on a merging and a shrinking strategy. A recently investigated shrinking strategy is based on using bisimulations. Bisimulations are guaranteed to produce perfect heuristics. In this thesis we investigate an efficient algorithm proposed by...
